Legio
II Augusta: |
A
Passion For History |
A 27 minute
documentary about the Second Legion Augusta, a Roman reenactment group
based in Auckland, New Zealand. |
Filmed throughout 2006, and early 2007, Legio II Augusta: A Passion For History profiles this active Roman reenactment group through interviews, footage of public displays, training sessions & combat events. The men and women of this club, along with all reenactors in general, share a common goal - to keep a remnant of the past alive by learning and practising the skills, arts & crafts of earlier cultures. |

We'd like to take the opportunity here to thank the men and women of the Second Legion Augusta, and all the other local reenactment groups who appear in our film - both for their patience as we followed them around with a camera, but more importantly for putting their faith and trust in us. Without that, we couldn't have had a film. Thanks guys, for making it possible to turn this idea into a reality. It's as much your film as it is ours. -- Mike Hansen & Tina Helg. |
